This straight tube is the lower half of a two-piece enclosure pole, built to slot into reinforced T-sockets. Those sockets add stability and help stop the frame from twisting as it takes load.
Galvanized steel gives the tube resistance to weather and rust. One end is squared off, and that end slides into the socket of the frame.
